About City

OSAKA is the most unique city in Japan, Located at a latitude of 34’35’~46’degrees north and a longitude of 135゜23'~36’degrees east. Osaka is roughly in the middle of Japan(about 500km of the west in Tokyo) for 1400 years, Osaka has been a gathering place. The city has long conducted business not only nationwide but also with China and the Korean Peninsula, playing an important role as a centre of trade and cultural exchange. The Osaka regions continued to play an important role in Japan's development. Osaka’s development into a major city began in the mid-sixteenth century, a time of great social instability and frequent internal warfare. Local feudal lords acted autonomously, unrestrained by a weak central government.

The best time to travel to Osaka in Japan The months May, June, July, September and October have nice weather with a good average temperature. On average, and the warmest month are July and Augusta lot of rain (rainy season) falls in the months: March, April, May, June, July, August, September and October. Warmest month is August. Coolest month is January. June is the wettest month. This month should be avoided if you don't like too much rain. December is the driest month

The city's transport network is very well developed. Subways make it possible to reach anywhere in the city with in about 30 minutes. Osaka is about 30 minutes by train from Kyoto and Nara with their many cultural and historical sights, and Kobe with their exotic and fashionable atmosphere. A canonical view of Japanese culture developed during the Meiji era(1868-1912)in which Kyoto and Nara were given the status of sources and centres of traditional culture, while Tokyo and Osaka became the essence of modern society.

Osaka is filled with wit and wisdom, where everyday conversations are like the banter of two “MANZAI”comedians.Today's entertainment is “RAKUGO”“MANZAI” and “NEW COMEDY” .The RAKUGO:traditional storytelling in local dialect. The MANZAI:in which a pair of comedians amuse audiences with their quick-fire banter is popular all over the country. And just outside OSAKA is the world famous all-female TAKARAZUKA Revue and its gala musicals.
